Welcome!

Here at D. Scott Hudgens Center for Skilled Nursing, we offer a warm and nurturing atmosphere where your loved one can thrive and enjoy a wonderful quality of life. Our highly skilled staff has been specifically trained to meet the needs of adults with developmental disabilities who may also be experiencing the effects of aging such as dementia, lack of mobility, medication monitoring, and loss of skills.

Our residents are encouraged to be as independent as they are able and to participate in activities that are of interest to them. In addition to programs and activities that are provided at the center, residents may also go on off campus outings and take part in the programs offered at the Patricia M. Brown Center for Programs, if they are appropriate.

We strive to make D. Scott Hudgens as much like home as possible. We work together as a team to meet the unique clinical and emotional needs or our residents. Special things are happening every day, from short walks around the campus to a visit with the horses, we are building trusting relationships.

I welcome you to come and visit us and the Annandale Village campus. We are very proud of our facility and the care that we provide for our very special community.

Sincerely,

Dayna Cramer, Administrator

News

Thanks to the generosity of the families of our residents at DSH, the funds have been raised to purchase a new wheel-chair accessible glider swing.  The WhisperGlide swing will provide our residents and their families a fun way to enjoy warm sunny days together.  To learn more about the WhisperGlide Swing go to www.whisperglide.com.  Thank you!

Our New Swing

The new Whisper Glide swing was dedicated on May 16.  All of the Annandale Villagers and staff were on hand for a cookout, dance entertainment, and the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Also, thanks to the generosity of our Families here at Annandale, mulit-sensory equipment has been purchased for DSH.  The residents at DSH will enjoy an anti-gravity chair, interactive bubble column and a Mystery Zone table top fountain.  A fully equiped multi-sensory environment is located in the Program Center on the Annandale campus and may be utilized by all of our Villagers.

Villagers at D. Scott Hudgens enjoy the anti-gravity chair.  The chair vibrates and heats up for additional stimulation.
